BACKGROUND: To evaluate the clinical outcomes of the Platysma Easy Clip technique combined with cervical liposuction for neck rejuvenation in selected patients presenting with mild to moderate cervical laxity.
METHODS: This retrospective case series included 100 patients who underwent cervical liposuction associated with the Platysma Easy Clip technique. Patients were classified according to the Glogau photoaging scale and followed for a period of 12 months. Outcomes were assessed through standardized photographic analysis and clinical follow-up, with particular emphasis on the cervicomental angle measured using the GeoGebra platform, as well as complication rates.
RESULTS: A degree of variability was observed among cases, with a mean change of +9.15° indicating an overall trend toward reduction of the cervicomental angle. The sample comprised 10% male patients and 17% classified as presenting a "heavy neck," all of whom demonstrated observable postoperative aesthetic improvement. Five patients (5%) within the "heavy neck" subgroup required secondary skin revision (29.4%; p < 0.001, Fisher's exact test). No intraoperative complications, such as hemorrhage, nerve injury, or extensive tissue damage, were observed. Postoperative complications included mild infection in 5% of cases (95% confidence interval: 2%-11%), requiring clip removal. The postoperative course was characterized by transient ecchymosis and edema, managed with physiotherapy, compression, and analgesics.
CONCLUSION: In this consecutive case series, the Platysma Easy Clip technique combined with cervical liposuction demonstrated consistent observational aesthetic improvement, low complication rates, and stable results during clinical follow-up. This approach represents a viable less invasive alternative for cervical rejuvenation in mild to moderate cases and should be considered among the available options for platysmaplasty techniques. It may be particularly relevant for surgeons managing cervical aging with a preference for minimally invasive strategies.
